Graveside Funeral Services for Wayne Bakhaus, 86, of Lexington were held Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Noble IOOf Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Mr. Bakhaus passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at the Norman Regional Healthplex.
Wayne Warren Bakhaus was born February 17, 1933 in Oklahoma City, the younger of two children born to George William Bakhaus and Ethel Blanch (Coe) Bakhaus. He was raised north of Lexington and attended Lone Star Schools.
Wayne served his country in the United States Army. After an honorable discharge, he returned home to help care for his family.
He married Sharon Pernell and to this union, his only son Warren was born. Wayne began a career with Oklahoma Natural Gas Co., retiring as a line inspector.
In 2005, he married Lois Elliott and they spent the last years enjoying life. They were inseparable, and spent every hour of the day with each other. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by his son, Warren Bakhaus and his parents, George and Ethel Bakhaus.
Wayne leaves behind his wife, Lois of the home; sister, Catherine Burgess of Lexington; niece, Kay College of Norman and a host of other family and friends.
