Celebration of Life Memorial Services for Virginia Medders, 84, of Noble, formerly of Purcell, are pending at this time. Services will be under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Mrs. Medders passed away Monday, April 22, 2019, at the Norman Regional Healthplex.
Virginia Marie Redus was born February 15, 1935 in Vaughn, N.M., the oldest of five children born to Onal “Homer” Redus and Ruby Marie (Isbell) Redus. She was raised all over New Mexico, as the family followed work wherever Homer could find it.
Virginia attended Highland University and earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts. She lived mainly in Ruidoso where she worked as a waitress and in customer service.
Virginia was the proud mother of four children; sons, Rex and Homer and daughters, Connie and Twala.
She was a gifted artist, and especially enjoyed painting, and she shared her many talents with her family and friends. Virginia was a wonderful mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Twala Sue Frasier; three granddaughters; her parents, Homer and Ruby Redus; brother, William “Bill” Redus and sister, Wanda Ruth Riley.
Virginia is survived by her children, Rex Medders of Durant, Homer Medders of Ruidoso and Connie Key of Oklahoma City; brothers, Charles Redus of Noble and Jimmie Redus of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
