Main Street businesses will play host to costumed interlopers later this month during Halloween of the Heart.

The trick-or-treat event will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. October 29.

Halloween of the Heart is sponsored by the Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce.

Elisabeth Baker, executive director of the chamber, said the Purcell Police Department will have a dunk tank.

There will also be a display of off-road vehicles.

A pumpkin patch will be set up by the caboose.

Businesses will give candy to the trick-or-treaters.

Baker said there will be inflatables, food trucks, games and other activities.

And of course when it’s Halloween, costume contests are a must.

Plans call for judging kids costumes, as well as pet costumes.

A breakdown of costume contest classes is pending, she added.

City-wide trick-or-treat will be October 31.
