While not on the Fourth, there will still be plenty of fireworks lighting up the night sky over Purcell Lake to acknowledge a stylishly late Independence Day on Saturday.
The lake side festivities by Chandler Pavilion will commence at 5 p.m. That’s when the food trucks, attractions and a bounce house will open for business.
Okie Bills BBQ will be serving the mid-summer holiday favorite fare – barbecue – while burgers and fries will lead the menu at Chris’ Grill & Frozen Treats.
Other taste-tempters will be Italian ice from Ice Kween Creations, kettle corn from Okie Family Kettle Corn, and Bmax Concession’s funnel cakes and corn dogs.
You just can’t get more 4th of July than that!
Kids can run off their concession-fueled excess energy by jumping around in a bounce house or tackling an obstacle course from Dawg Daze Party Rental.
Too physical? Then take a gander at the monster truck from DMD Off road.
Just be assured. There will be plenty to see, eat or do while passing the time until 9:45 p.m.
That’s when the fireworks show begins.
The show is co-sponsored by the City of Purcell and Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce, with financial support of area businesses and individuals.
The show is staged by Arc Pyrotechnics Inc., an Oklahoma City firm
There will be plenty of booms and bangs, courtesy of participants in the chamber’s Adopt-A-Boom fund-raiser.
Four levels of fireworks include the Big Bangs, 360-foot plumes; Sonic Booms, 270-foot plumes; Bada Booms, 180-foot plumes, and Baby Booms, 90-foot plumes.
Chandler Pavilion is located across from the Multipurpose Center.
