Quick and professional action by the McClain County Sheriff’s Department resulted in the apprehension of an armed robbery suspect Friday afternoon.
Sheriff Deputy Kaylee Dobbins arrested a juvenile on Division Street just north of the Family Dollar Store on SH 59.
Undersheriff Landy Offolter said at the time of the arrest the juvenile did not have a weapon.
Several deputies including, Detective David Tompkins, remained on the scene hours after the 12:30 p.m. incident searching for a weapon or any other clues in the area.
The suspect made off with cash, which was recovered when he was arrested, still on foot in Wayne.
Offolter reported there were two or three customers in the store plus a clerk when the juvenile entered the store.
No one was injured in the incident.
