Purcell school officials have announced new and specific rules for Friday’s homecoming parade in downtown Purcell.
Slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. all participants must abide by the regulations or the parade will be shut down immediately by Purcell Police, parade sponsor Krysta Matthews reported.
Also, if the rules are not followed the parade route will be changed for good.
“This is for the safety of the kids and everyone attending the parade,” Ms. Matthews said.
Candy can only be thrown by walkers. No candy can be thrown from floats, cars, trailers or any other moving vehicle.
Also, no one is allowed to get off a float or trailer or car until it is stopped for good.
No one can get off their vehicle in the middle of the street where the pep assembly is taking place.
“If you are in the parade or a sponsor of a float, please advise all involved. We want this to be a fun event and continue traditions. But we also want to be cautious and safe,” she concluded.
