A sleepy driver spelled trouble Monday afternoon when he dozed off, sending his pickup across the center line and into the path of an oncoming pickup.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Rusty Russell, Shaun C. Poor, 40, of Lexington was westbound on State Highway 39 when he fell asleep.
Poor’s 2010 GMC Sierra pickup struck an eastbound 2017 Ford pickup driven by Isaac Camacho, 25, of Driscoll, Texas.
The impact caused Camacho’s vehicle to cross the center line. It rolled 1-1/2 times.
Camacho was taken by ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha and then transferred to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in good condition.
Poor wasn’t injured.
Russell reported the wreck occurred shortly after 5 p.m. seven miles north of Alex.
Assisting at the scene were Troopers Michael Jewell and Patrick Surber, Grady County Sheriff’s Department, Grady County Fire Department and Chickasha EMS.
