Editor’s note: The Purcell Register has introduced a new feature in which civic leaders and others will answer five questions. The following were answered by Elisabeth Baker, executive director of the Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce.
Q: Is the job what you thought it would be?
A: I think there is definitely more to it than people might think. There’s a lot more you can do with the chamber than I thought. A lot of roles can come into play and it’s exciting.
Q: What is the best thing about your job?
A: Helping businesses succeed in our area, making the communities better.
Q: What would you change?
A: I’m not really sure. There’s a lot of different things you can do with the chamber.
Q: Do you like challenges?
A: Yes! It keeps things interesting. I like tackling things and hopefully something comes out of that.
Q: What do you do to decompress away from the office?
A: That’s easy. Photography.
