A Moore man died August 15 in a collision with a semi tractor-trailer that was stopped for construction on Interstate 35.
Pronounced dead at the scene with head and arm injuries was Roberto Nieto, 40.
He was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Ozment reported the fatality crash happened around 11:15 a.m. at mile marker 82 in the southbound lanes.
Both Nieto’s 2018 Ford F150 and the 2015 Kenworth driven by Russell Pack, 41, of Chesterton, Ind., were southbound.
The semi in the outside lane was stopped for construction when it was hit from behind by the pickup.
Pack, who suffered head, trunk and leg injuries, was transported by Wadleys EMS to Purcell Municipal Hospital where he was treated and released.
Assisting Ozment at the scene were Troopers Barry Campbell, Tommy Riddle and Shayne Ballard, the Purcell and Wayne fire departments and Wadleys EMS.
