An arrest warrant is outstanding for James L. Brown Jr., 36, of Noble.
Brown is charged in McClain County District Court with failure to register as a sex offender after it was discovered he’d been living at a homeless camp north of the 100 block of East Main.
According to an affidavit, police noticed Brown walking toward the camp early in the morning of May 9. When an officer checked the camp early on May 13, he found Brown in a sleeping bag. Several bags containing Brown’s personal property were stored beneath a tarp.
However, Brown denied living at the camp.
The charges were filed after former felony convictions.
