In order to keep the blood supply strong this summer the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) is making donations a priority.
The All-American blood drive, sponsored by the Purcell community, will be held Friday at Purcell Municipal Hospital.
The blood drive will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and everyone who donates will receive two free Oklahoma City Dodger baseball tickets.
Each donor will also receive their choice of a voucher for one free entry to Science Museum Oklahoma or two free entries to Safari Joe’s H2O Water and Adventure Park and a “Summer Vibes” T-shirt.
Anyone 16 year-old or older and in generally good health may donate.
“The summer months, in addition to the recent severe flooding and upcoming Independence Day holiday, put incredible stress on the blood supply for patients in our state,” said John Armitage, M.D., president and CEO of OBI.
“We are grateful for all donors who can take time before and during the holiday week to help Oklahomans who will need blood throughout the summer,” he continued.
OBI volunteer donors provide every drop of blood needed by patients in more than 160 hospitals, medical facilities and air ambulances across Oklahoma.
