A deluge last Saturday in Central Oklahoma dumped from 1.40” to up to two inches on rain in localized areas.

There was some thunder but no extensive wind or hail associated with the line of storms that moved slowly through the area.

The torrential rain made travel tricky on Interstate 35 between Norman and Purcell and may have been a factor in an accident in Norman on the interstate.

The rain brings the unofficial total in Purcell to 45.04” for the year-to-date.

Oklahoma City has recorded 45.34” at Will Rogers World Airport.

Normal for the year-to-date is 35.43” with the annual precipitation level at 35.85”.
