A 21-year-old Norman man faces a minimum $739 fine after he was ticketed for hunting without the landowner’s consent and illegally taking a whitetail deer.
A hearing in McClain County District Court for John D. Rogers will be at 1:30 p.m. December 17.
He was arrested at 6:30 a.m. November 16 by Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Game Ranger Brian Meskimen.
According to the two citations, the game ranger encountered Rogers hunting on the east side of Bryant Avenue one-half mile south of 220th Street.
Rogers allegedly stabbed a nine-point buck to death. He told Meskimen that the deer had been shot by someone else.
