A pedestrian and a motorist lost their lives in separate traffic accidents in McClain County in the span of four hours.
Killed at approximately 10:44 p.m. June 27 was Treyton Cullins, 21, of Midwest City.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. Kevin Robinson reported Cullins was walking in the outside southbound lane of I-35 and was south of State Highway 9 East at Norman when he was struck by a Freightliner semi.
The truck driver, Russel Harris, 53, of Shreveport, La., wasn’t injured.
Robinson was assisted at the scene by the Goldsby Fire Department, Lighthorse Police Department, Norman Police Department and the McClain County Sheriff’s Department .
The second fatality occurred around 2:43 a.m. June 28 just south of mile marker 91 on the interstate.
Lawrence Harvey Williams, 66, of Byars, was driving a 2014 Lexus northbound on I-35 when the car ran off the right side of the highway.
Trooper Jeff Cummings reported the car traveled approximately 400 feet before striking a mobile home that sets approximately 90 feet off the roadway.
Williams, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was pinned in the wreckage for more than three hours.
Assisting Cummings were the Purcell Police Department, McClain County Sheriff’s Department and Wadley’s EMS.
Both victims were taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
