Carson Bennett McMahon from Washington High School was a delegate to the 2019 American Legion Boys State held at NEO A&M State earlier this month.
Carson will be a senior in the fall and is enrolled in concurrent classes at Oklahoma City Community College.
After high school he plans to continue his education, but is undecided on which university. He plans to become a chiropractor.
Extra curricular activities at Washington High School include, National Honor Society, Student Council officer, yearbook officer, football and track. He is currently employed at Bentley Turf Farms.
He is the great-grandson of Vestal and Roselie (Hicks) Bennett, who were members of the Burch Brothers American Legion Post 136 in Marietta. Another great-grandfather is Glen Wilson of Maysville. Wilson is a member of American Legion Post 97 in Pauls Valley.
Carson enjoyed the week at Boys state and how delegates focused on patriotism and one’s duty for public service and responsible citizenship.
