Power was knocked out to several downtown businesses just after 5 p.m. August 7.
A transformer blew in the alley behind The Purcell Register and several other businesses.
Electricity was knocked out for three hours and 24 minutes while city of Purcell electric crews replaced the transformer that blew out at 5:18 p.m. Wednesday.
Department Supervisor Trey Phillips said sometimes when the transformers are older and when it’s hot and there are a lot of customers using electricity they have a glitch.
“It should be good now that we have installed a new transformer,” Phillips said.
